Startup pitch Contest Entry

Kyoto FoodTech Expo 2026 will host a Startup Pitch Contest for startups aiming to develop and commercialize technologies and solutions that address challenges in the food sector and create new opportunities for the industry.

Theme: Initiatives that leverage innovative technologies, ingredients/materials, and systems related to the food value chain, including food production, processing, distribution, and consumption.

Suggested Themes

Smart Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Production Technologies / Food Production Technologies Adapted to Climate Change / Food Processing Technologies / Fermentation Technologies / Health and Functional Foods / Novel and Alternative Food Ingredients / Food Preservation and Distribution Technologies / Utilization of Kyoto’s Food Culture / Initiatives Supporting the SDGs / Food-Related Innovations and Technologies etc.

Eligibility	Companies that meet either of the following criteria: Startup companies that are less than 10 years old and not publicly listed “Re-startup” companies, including long-established businesses, that are pursuing new business ventures or expanding into new fields
