Since 2023, Kyoto Prefecture has been organizing the Kyoto FoodTech Expo in conjunction with the Kyoto Smart City Expo to promote the adoption of FoodTech among agricultural, forestry, fisheries, and food-related businesses within the prefecture.
In response to strong demand for a larger exhibition scale and in light of FoodTech being positioned as a national strategic field, Kyoto Prefecture has decided to hold the event as a standalone exhibition in FY2026 in order to further accelerate initiatives in this sector.
